前言
值此新春之际，中央美术学院国际版画研究院首届研究展成功举办，我谨代表中国美术家协会、中央美术学院表示热烈祝贺！向支持这次国际版画盛事的云南艺术学院和昆明当代美术馆表示由衷感谢！
版画艺术历史十分悠久，是人类艺术和文化发展的重要标志，也应证着人类文明的进程。全球各国各地的版画艺术既呈现出版画画种形式、技巧、语言的共通性，又带着自身的文化传统基因，体现出丰富多元的特色。版画作为传播和交流甚广的艺术方式，在不同文化的相互学习借鉴与交融发展中作出独特的贡献。由此可以说，充满手工劳作精神的“刻”与“印”，铭刻的是历史与现实的画卷，印记的是文化理想与审美追求。
中央美术学院国际版画研究院成立以来，在王华祥院长的带领下，广泛联系国际版画界特别是国际艺术教育中的版画力量，共同探讨当代版画的发展与全球版画学术交流，尤其是形成国际学院版画联盟，在版画的学科建设、人才培养、创作研究和社会传播上开展广泛的交流，使中国版画教育教学的优秀传统和当代发展的成果成为讲好中国故事的形象内容，每一次的展览都富有新颖的主题和精美的作品，成为中国版画与世界交流的高层次平台。此次国际版画研究院首届研究展，是研究院成立以来各项工作扎实开展、人脉艺脉蓬勃贯通的成果，展览汇集来自全球著名美术学府和著名版画家的作品，构成蔚为壮观的版画艺术发展新貌，是前所未有、可以载入版画艺术史册的事件，对于通过版画艺术让中国了解世界、让世界认识中国具有历史性的意义。
云南是美术大省和强省，在版画艺术创作上名家辈出，人才比较雄厚，中央美术学院与云南艺术学院的学术交流合作也富有传统。此回两校协作，以昆明当代美术馆为展出平台，将使云南广大公众有机会欣赏版画艺术的纷呈精彩，共同促进新时代新征程中国版画艺术发展，书写国际版画艺术交流新的篇章。

为什么要成立国际版画研究院？作为美术教育领域里一个重要的专业，版画教学承担着培养版画家和版画工作者的任务。知识、技能、观念，是教学的中心内容。21世纪是人类全球化的高速发展时期，学院中的任何学科都必须意识到，我们所处的环境已经发生了激烈而巨大的变化，不能再做井底之蛙，也不能仅仅靠历史经验教学。中国虽然已经发展成为世界第二大经济体，但我们的文化与艺术是否也同步了呢？我认为我们要有与之匹配的心态、能力和作为。无论是出于文化责任还是出于被冷落的版画画种的自尊心，版画必须复兴，版画家必须过得好。
和七年前策划发起国际学院版画联盟一样，我相信国内的兄弟院校和国外的版画同行也会和我一样有同样的愿望和期待。事情也的确如此，我得到了大家热烈的响应和支持，在经济和人力上给了我们大力的帮助和承担。比如云南艺术学院、长沙师范学院、陶溪川美术馆、淮安美术馆、贵州美术馆、意大利国家版画博物馆，南京金陵美术馆，厦门中华儿女美术馆、中央美院美术馆、波兰格旦斯克美术学院美术馆以及一些企业家和文化机构的支持。在此，我代表国际版画研究院向所有支持版画研究和创作的机构和个人表示衷心的感谢，特别要感谢范迪安院长，郭浩院长、聂荣庆馆长、我们研究院的各位副院长以及秘书和其他的同志，正是因为有你们的帮助，才有中央美术学院国际版画研究院的成立和今天的展览。让我们继续一起合作，尽力做好版画的研究者和领头羊。我们所做的努力和贡献会继续记录在历史的刻度里。
时间过的好快，今天距国际版画研究院成立已经三年了，成立那天是由范迪安院长致开幕词和给各位颁发的证书。我们所有人都是国际版画研究院的参与者和创造者。大家已经被记录在文字和时间的刻度里。迄今为止，国际版画界还没有一个像我们这样的跨国机构，历史给了我们与众不同的机会，研究院的身份使我们超越单位和个体，有了另一种价值代码。
